In last weeks article I mentioned that Augusta was corresponding with Oklahoma Historian, Joseph Thoburn. He was encouraging Augusta to spend more time painting and entering her art in competitions and exhibits. She explained to him her very heavy workload here on the farm prevented her from spending as much time as she wished on her paintings. Thoburn suggested that she have at least six paintings to exhibit in the Oklahoma State Fair. She had finished three and was burning the midnight oil to complete three more.
