A typical day in the life for Augusta and her family consisted of planting and harvesting, washdays, horse-breaking, or cattle branding.There was still fun to be had amidst farm chores; quilting, picking persimmons, dinner with friends and even dances were all mentioned in some manner in the journals Mary, Augusta’s mother, kept.Life may look vastly different for us today with our cell phones and vehicles, but when you view the basics, life isn’t so different.
