People Prefer the Baby

By the church of Christ in Cheyenne In spite of biblical silence about the date Jesus was born, every December folks decide to talk about Jesus’s birth. Nativity scenes dot the landscape. People speak of mangers and inns and Mary and Joseph and wise men and shepherds in a field. Songs about it are everywhere. There are decorations in yards. Programs on TV. Programs at church buildings. People are adamant that we “keep Christ in Christmas.” Even people who aren’t very religious get into the act. “Peace on earth, good will to men,” after all.
