Randall Eugene Calvert was born February 19, 1925 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Ivy Lucy (Little) and Frank Rector Calvert. He passed away Saturday, March 27th, 2021 at his home in Durham, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years, 1 month and 8 days.
Randall grew up in the Cheyenne and Square Top communities where he attended school graduating from Cheyenne High School in 1943. After graduation he was drafted into the United States Army where he served in the European Theater. After he returned stateside he was married to Juhree (Isbell) at Cordell, Oklahoma on February 15th, 1946. After their marriage they spent a brief time in Kentucky until his discharge from the Army. They returned east of Cheyenne for two years until moving west of Crawford where they made their home. Randall and Juhree spent many years running a Grade A dairy, farming and raising cattle. He served on the Crawford school board and on many church committees. In his later years Randall enjoyed playing Domino’s, playing cards, attending his grandchildren’s activities and spending time with his family and friends. Randall was a wonderful father, a devoted grandfather, a dedicated great-grandfather and an excited great great grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Juhree; son, Vernon Wayne Calvert; great granddaughter, Grace Roark.
He is survived by his three children, Eugene Calvert and wife, Christine, Crawford, OK, Juhretta Roark and husband Dwayne, Cheyenne, OK and Teddy Calvert and wife, Doris, Durham, OK; Ten grandchildren, Tracy Smith, Lisa Calvert, Travis Roark, Kevin Calvert, LaDonna Williams, Tarryn Crawford, LaCinda Leitch, Tyler Roark, Evan Calvert and Glen Calvert; twenty-one great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Doris Minor and husband, Ivan and one brother, Derward Calvert and wife, Oweita and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Cheyenne United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Alex Costea. Burial will be held at Cheyenne Cemetery under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service-West. Condolences can be made online at www.classicfunerals. com
