The 1947 Old Settler’s Parade, rodeo and other festivities were filmed in color by a crew from PSO, much of it from atop the Rook. Wanda Purcell remembers seeing this film while attending Cheyenne Schools. The film was donated to the Blackkettle museum (which was in the building that now houses the Chamber of Commerce.) When the museum became affiliated with the Oklahoma Historical Society the movie and many other artifacts were transferred to the Oklahoma History Center. Luckily, they have found and digitized the movie-giving us evidence of what the original marquee looked like.
