Thus far our posts (and our renovation efforts) have focused on the Rook Theater. However when we had an opportunity to purchase the building next door-we realized it would give us room for a catering kitchen and additional bathrooms. This fireproof building was built in 1923 by publisher and owner John Casady for his Cheyenne Star newspaper after a number of Cheyenne buildings burned. Notice that at this point Broadway had yet to be paved. As the Friends of the Rook prepare to reopen the theater and celebrate the Rook’s 82nd year-we want to share all the great stories we’ve…
