The Rook Theater was built in 1939 by Elmer Rook and designed by Jack Corgan. Mr Corgan was one of the first licensed architects in Texas and designed hundreds of theaters across the Southwest, including theaters in Elk City, Clinton and Sayre. After the Friends of the Rook 501c3 was formed, Bob Rook (Elmer’s grandson) contacted us through our Facebook page and offered us Jack Corgan’s original rendering of the Rook.
