Rick Lippencott, age 70, passed away on July 5, 2021, in Athol, Idaho. Rick was born on December 3, 1950 in Sayre, Oklahoma. When Rick turned six, his parents C.E. and Inez Lippencott moved from Oklahoma to Washington state.
He attended Redmond High School and graduated in 1969. After graduating, he joined and proudly served in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1973. He later worked for Mid- Mountain Contractors and then Pilchuck Contractors before retiring. He volunteered as a baseball umpire for little league baseball and served throughout the Puget Sound.
He married his high school sweetheart, Cindy Harbison, on July 3, 2001, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, at the Hitching Post – the same place Cindy’s parents were married years earlier and on Rick’s parent’s anniversary. Rick and Cindy moved to Ellensburg, Washington, and finally settled down in Athol, Idaho, in 2015 to be closer to Cindy’s family. He enjoyed fixing classic cars and motorcycles, cheering on the Seattle Seahawks, and hunting. His love for hunting took him to Africa three times, twice to New Zealand, and multiple trips throughout the states, including alligator hunting in Louisiana. He loved sharing his hunting stories with friends and family, as well as the friendships he made with fellow hunters and guides.
Rick is survived by his wife, Cindy Lippencott; his son, Josh Lippencott; his two sisters, Sharon Charlton of Ellensburg and Linda Harbison of Snohomish; three nieces: Lisa Harrison, Michelle Falkenhainer, Tina Leach; two nephews, Don Sherman and DJ Falkenhainer; five great nieces: Malia Cook, Cierra Winn, Brianna Coates, Lexi Berge, and Kylie Sherman; one great nephew, Jagger Winn; four great-great nephews: Elwin Coates, Kash Coates, Tate Coates, and Shy Cook-Costa; his cousin, Steve Lippencott and family; and Cindy’s children: Angela (Levi) Shoolroy (and grandchildren Jacob, Ashlynn, and Amber), Mary (Jeff) Payne (and grandchildren Madison and Taylor), Doug (Stephanie) Hawkins (and grandchildren Emma, Olivia, Lucas, Alexander, Henry, and Adelaide), and John (Katie) Hawkins (and grandchildren Carter, Cohen, Casen, and Charlotte).
