Roberta Joan (Kile) Kauk passed from this life on June 3, 2021, at the age of 86 years old. Roberta was born in Beaver, Oklahoma on August 14, 1934, to Asa and Anna Kile. She had six sisters and four brothers. She married her sweetheart Austin Kauk on February 3, 1955 in Elk City, Oklahoma. Austin and Roberta lived in Pueblo, Colorado for a few months after marrying and moved back to Leedey in 1956. To their union, two daughters were born – Dana Kay on March 16, 1956 and Vicky Lynn on September 14th, 1959. Roberta adored her girls and was a very loving mother.
Roberta worked at First National Bank in Leedey for a couple years and then worked diligently as a stayat- home wife and mom and farm wife. When the girls were in junior high and grade school, she went back to work in Leedey as a store clerk. In 1970, she went back to work at the bank, where she worked until 1996. Roberta was a great friend to many and enjoyed visiting with the customers there. After she retired from the bank, she was a full-time farm wife and was a very present and loving grandma.
Roberta was skilled at all types of handiwork. She enjoyed sewing for her grandkids and great-grandkids. Crocheting was her favorite pastime. At last count, she had crocheted over 110 baby afghans as gifts for family and friends. Roberta was a thoughtful and caring family woman and made it a point to be there for her loved ones all throughout her life. Her family will always remember all the ways she loved them, through the meaningful and laughter-filled time she spent with them, the meals she affectionately prepared for them, the clothes and blankets she dotingly sewed for them, and the way she taught them how to live their lives through her example every day.
Roberta was preceded in death by her beloved husband Austin, her daughter Vicky, her parents, and her ten brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Dana, granddaughter Lindsey Lady-Cearlock, grandson Seth Lady and wife Morgan, and eight great-grandchildren: Avery Cearlock, Dycen Cearlock, Austin Cearlock and wife Destiny, Breyden Cearlock, Cayne Cearlock, Ethan Lady, Fallyn Lady, and Austin “Audie” Lady, and two great-great-grandchildren: Blakely Cearlock and Roper Cearlock.
