Roger Mills County Producers Encouraged to Consider Crop Risk Protection Coverage Before Fall Deadlines

(Cheyenne, OK), August 16, 2022 – U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Mindy Dowdle in Roger Mills County reminds producers to review available USDA crop risk protection options, including federal crop insurance and Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program (NAP) coverage, before the August 31, 2022, fall seeded crop deadline. Federal crop insurance covers crop losses from natural disasters, such as drought, hail and excessive moisture. NAP covers crop losses, for which permanent federal crop insurance is not available, including forage and grazing crops, fruits, vegetables, mushrooms, floriculture, ornamental nursery, aquaculture, turf grass, ginseng, honey, syrup,…
