Rook Restoration Continues

While the theater has a long way to go, this has been a good week for Friends of the Rook. The Rook received a $3,000 grant from the Oklahoma Rural Rehabilitation Corporation to help add an ADA bathroom, the Rook letters are shining at night and Tommy Kirkpatrick has finished painting the front of the Rook with the help of Monty Conway’s lift.

The 1990’s stage extension was removed in order to fix the theater floor into two level tiers. Those helping with the removal were Scott Martin, Susie Thurmond, Cassie McGlothlin and son Clay, Sue Moore and grandson Bronson.

Friends of the Rook hope to have the theater usable during the Draggin Main Event set for October 17, 2020.
