There were 674 visitors in the month of October. A year ago, we celebrated the end of construction on the Overlook facilities and the paving of half of the battlefield trail. A year before that, we were preparing for the commemoration of the 150th of the Battle of the Washita. A year from now, we will acknowledge the 25th anniversary of the important legislation made by Congress, Public Law 104-333, which established Washita Battlefield National Historic Site as the 373rd unit of the National Park Service.
