The “HU,” a popular Mongolian folk metal band, has taken traditional instruments and singing and blended them with modern instruments and sounds. Similarly, “A Tribe Called Red” has taken classic pow wow music and blended it with contemporary music. Music and sounds are important in many cultures. At Washita, visitors in the museum walk over the seal of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribe. Upon doing so, they trigger a motion sensor that starts playing the Cheyenne and Arapaho flag song. You hear men singing while beating a single drum together. In another room, you hear the Cheyenne language being spoken.…
