Shari Orr has been selected as the National Park Service (NPS) Volunteer Program Manager. In this position Orr will lead the development of policy, strategy, and standards for the Volunteer-in-Park (VIP) program. She also leads the team that oversees the Trail to Rails program, Community Volunteer Ambassadors, and volunteer.gov. “Volunteers are a vital resource in our collective goal to preserve and share our nation’s natural and cultural resources,” said Orr. Orr began her new position on March 15, 2021. The VIP program consists of over 300,000 volunteers who annually contribute over 7.2 million hours of service valued at over $170,000,000.…
