Washita NPS Park Guide Joel Shockley

Park Guide, Joel Shockley, has been at Washita Battlefield National Historic Site since May 2004. A native Oklahoman, born in Claremore, Joel believes the words of Will Rogers that, “We are here for a spell; get all the laughs you can.” Joel is an Eagle Scout and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Museum Management. Joel has lived all over the world in places like England, Texas, Germany, California, Italy, North Carolina, Mexico, Kansas, Canada, New Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Louisiana, United Arab Emirates just to name a few.
