Wenona Scrivner was born March 27, 1936, in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Richard and Vivian (Drum) Burch. She passed away Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 in Canadian, Texas at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 5 days.

Wenona grew up in Ardmore, Oklahoma where she attended school graduating from Ardmore High School. She married Tom Scrivner on June 29, 1964 in Reydon, Oklahoma. They lived in Oklahoma City, Ardmore and in 1977, they and their daughter, Tracey, moved to Reydon to make their home.

She was an only child and was delighted to have brothers and sisters after marrying Tom. She loved them dearly along with their children. Wenona got her nickname “Nonie” from nephew Paul. All of her nieces and nephews caught on quickly and their children referred to her as “Nonie”.

Wenona loved reading and working crossword puzzles. She loved her family dearly and was so proud of her grandchildren, Thomas Wirth and Jaci Wirth Pence. She thought being Nana was one of her greatest accomplishments. She worked for various oil companies and retired from the Department of Human Services in 2003 after 25 years of service. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers-inlaw: James Roy Robertson, Joe Yowell and Paul Ray Yowell.

Wenona is survived by her husband, Tom; 2 daughters, Tracey and husband, Jack of Plainview, Texas and Kim Ward of Norman; 2 grandchildren, Thomas Wirth and fiance, Bryanna Hundt, Jaci Wirth Pence and husband, Connor.

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Reydon Legion Hut or Hospice of Hemphill County.

Funeral Services will be held at the Reydon First Baptist Church officiated by Curtis Patrick and Thomas Wirth. Burial will immediately follow at White Rose Cemetery in Reydon.
