
William “Bill” Edward Moore was born September 5, 1943 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Wenona Edna (Briggs) and J.W. Moore. He passed away Tuesday, July 18th, 2023 at Integris Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 13 days.
Bill grew up in Cheyenne where he attended school graduating from Cheyenne Schools in 1961. He was drafted into the United States Air Force and served 6 years retiring with an honorable discharge in September of 1967. Bill was in the 5010th Civil Engineer Squadron as a liquid fuel specialist. After serving in the air force at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, Bill decided he liked Alaska so much he made it his home in Fairbanks. There he met Sandra Porter and to that marriage were born two sons, Ronald Moore and Larry Moore.
Bill went to work for Global Power and Communications as construction managed in Alaska.
He worked in places like Prudhoe Bay, Anchorage, and Fairbanks. In 2001 he reunited with an old classmate, Donna Kirk, and they married on September 29th, 2001. They made their home in Fairbanks until 2005 when they moved back to Cheyenne, Oklahoma and then retired to Yuma, Arizona. They moved back to Elk City in 2021 where they made their home. Bill was a member of the IBEW, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, flying, visiting with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John Moore, Jauwan “Spud” Moore, and Dub Lou “Dubby” Moore; and one grandson, Ryan Moore.
Bill is survived by his wife, Donna Stice Kirk Moore, of the home; three sons, Ron Moore, Yakima, WA, Larry Moore, Tri-Cities, WA, and Shane Kirk and wife, Lawanda, Cheyenne, OK; two daughters, Stephanie Bachmann and husband, Greg, Durham, OK and Charlotte Pittman and husband, Kirk, Seiling, OK; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Ike Moore, Eufala, OK, Rocky Moore and wife, Kathy, Yukon, OK, and Rodney Moore and wife, Miklyn, Cheyenne, OK; two sisters, Zoanna Conway and husband, Monte, Cheyenne, OK and Roseanna Suter and husband, Jeremy, El Reno, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
